Richard S. Vardy, Jr.
Executive President

Mr. Vardy has been the Founder and President of Metroplex Retaining Walls of Virginia, Inc. (MRW-VA) since it was established in 1989. With over 25 years in the construction industry, Mr. Vardy possesses invaluable expertise which has been the cornerstone of MRW-VA. His extensive experience combined with a carefully selected and knowledgeable staff has generated a superior and unique product and the unequaled service our customers have grown to expect. Under the leadership of Mr. Vardy, MRW-VA has been elevated to award winning status as the recipient of the Annual Craftsmanship Award for Masonary Exterior Stone in 2000 from the Washington Building Congress, Inc.

William Smallwood
Vice President of Operations

After graduating high school in 1995, Mr. Smallwood worked full time with his father who owned a masonry company. At his wedding reception in 1996 he was offered a foreman position with MRW-VA. Mr. Smallwood was with MRW-VA for four years before he was promoted from within to Vice President of Operations. Mr. Smallwood's work ethic and contribution to the company stood the test of time, showing that employment with MRW-VA gives anyone a chance to excel in their position.
